There are many reasons to purchase a new desktop, from needing something with more power to just plain wanting something new. With places to purchase desktops popping up all over the place both online and off, it can be a little overwhelming when you start your search. Which brand do you buy? What do you need in the desktop to do what you need to do? How do you get the new desktop to have everything from the old desktop on it?
Custom Designed Computers
Custom computers are not the super expensive creatures they were in the past. Nowadays, custom computers are not only affordable, but they are preferred to the name brand machines. When you look at a name brand computer, can you tell who made the motherboard? The RAM? The hard drive? Can you get the guarantee that those parts are the best quality parts among their peers? We have already done all the research, and we make sure that only the best parts go into your custom built machine.
Go Back in Time
How many times have you wished you could just take your computer back to the day you purchased it? With Computer Works’ custom computers, you can do just that. When we finish building your computer, we lock all your updates and software into a restore file that can be accessed at any time to take your computer back to the day you purchased it. Got a nasty virus? Restore it and it’s gone. Got a software glitch? Restore it and you’re back up and running.
The Great Data Migration
We’re confident that you have data on your previous computer that you’d like to have transferred onto your new computer. The question is, how much are you going to be charged to move the information from that machine to the new laptop? While software programs themselves cannot be transferred, things like documents, spreadsheets, pictures, music, and videos can be moved. Some companies charge up to $100 to move your data over, but Computer Works doesn’t charge at all when you purchase the laptop from us! (some restrictions apply)
Bring It All Back Home
Bringing a new desktop into the house can be like bringing a new pet into the house; you have a lot of things to do before your household is back to normal. Your new desktop will need to be set up to connect to your internet, along with any printers or other peripherals you have. If you’re not comfortable doing it yourself, you can schedule an in-home appointment with one of our technicians to help you set everything up at a discounted rate!
Quick Warranty Repairs
Wouldn’t it be nice if you could take your computer back to the place you purchased it for warranty work, instead of having to ship it off to Timbuktu and wait weeks for it to come back? At Computer Works, since we build the machines, we warranty them, right here in our store! On top of that, we keep the majority of our most popular systems’ parts in stock, which means your warranty repair is completed fast. Many times, if you bring the computer in to our location in the morning, you can have it back as early as later that afternoon!
Face to Face
Ultimately, purchasing a new computer is all about using the information you’re given to make the best decision for you. You may have done research online, but what if there is a question someone else didn’t ask? Who do you go to then? Computer Works thrives on face-to-face interactions with our customers. You like to ask questions, and we like to give answers. If you have something you want to know, would you rather wait on hold for someone in an overseas call center that might not even have an answer, or would you rather stop by or call to speak with someone directly who will try their best to get you the answer to your question? To us, the answer is simple!
Not Future-Proof, But Future-Preventative
There is no such thing as a future-proof computer. However, you can purchase what we like to call a future-preventative computer. That is, a computer that can be easily upgraded at a reasonable cost throughout the lifespan of the computer. When you purchase a computer from one of the big name manufacturers, usually it is impossible to upgrade things like the processor. With our custom built machines, you can easily upgrade your processor. The big name manufacturers also have many proprietary parts, which means that if you need to add a video card or other peripheral card, you need to make it a point to make sure that the card will physically fit into the machine, let alone do what you ask it to do. Overall, we like to make any upgrades as painless as possible.
